So, who is the future QB of the Browns? Is it Johnny Manziel? He certainly looked adequate in his first action of the season this year (unlike last year when he looked totally out of his element). Is it Josh McCown? Possible, in that McCown has thus far looked like a world beater. Is he a late bloomer? Is he a product of the new offensive system that the Browns are running? Perhaps. But maybe the future QB of the Browns is not on the roster now. One would think that the Browns would draft a future QB next year, but I don't know. I get the impression that this front office likes picking up reclamation projects (see McCown). If that is the case, what about the Detroit Lions QB Matt Stafford? He was benched last Sunday. Is he falling out of favor with the Lions? Could he be had in a trade for a mid level draft pick? I don't know, but it is something to consider.

There is a new series on BTN which gives an inside look at Ohio State football as they begin training camp. What a fascinating look this is for the Buckeye fan, to see inside the facilities, the interactions of players and coaches, and the preparation for the season. I throughly enjoyed the first installment. There was one thing I noticed, though, and that is what nice cars the players drive. I know that the players are student athletes who per NCAA rules can not hold a part time job. And I know that boosters can not give cars to the players, that is a violation of NCAA rules. So my question is how do the players get to drive such nice cars? I am not asking in judgement, I am asking because I know that my parents didn't provide me with a nice car, heck, as a parent I can't provide the type of cars these players are driving. So how do they do it? I don't know, but a BTN behind the scenes series such as this one reveals things the public doesn't get to normally see, and it invites questions that viewers like me will pose. So, does anyone have an answer?

My family members (with the exception of Luann) all have a favorite soccer team to follow in the Premier League. My son in law and son each root for Chelsea. My other son roots for Tottenham. Me? I don't have a favorite, at least not yet. I enjoy watching all the teams and can find a reason to have a rooting interest in many. Will a team beckon my interest? I am willing to listen.

Being the sports fan that I am, I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be a season ticket holder for any team in any sport. Guess again! I have taken the plunge with my daughter, Emily, as we both have joined the Columbus Blue Jackets season ticket base. We did so because we are huge hockey fans and we also think the Jackets will do well in the playoffs this year. Being a season ticket holder will guarantee the both of us to attend one game in each playoff series. So here is to the Blue Jackets and being a season ticket holder. By the way, it is a quarter season flex package, which amounts to ten games. I don't have the time, interest, nor the cash to be a half or full season ticket holder. I do have a job, and a family, and a life.

Yes, it is football season! I used to say that in the month of June, when I was younger, as the Tribe would be out of contention for the pennant in June. Now it is August and they are out of contention. With good reason, as the Tribe can't score any runs. In fact, they can't put hits together, they can't hit with runners in scoring position, they actually have no offense of which to speak. Their offense is offensive. So what will they do to fix the problem? They won't go out and sign a player, not with a third of their payroll tied up in Bourn and Swisher. Will they trade a pitcher? That would be robbing Peter to pay Paul. They have good starting pitching, and if pitching is 80% of the game, well then they set for the future. But not if they trade a starting pitcher, if they do, the return better be great. Not good, great. What I expect is two bonafide major league hitters for one starter. Am I dreaming? Perhaps, but watching the Tribe trying to score runs this year has been a nightmare

The best All Star game by far belongs to Major League Baseball. It isn't just the tradition and the uniforms, it is the compete level that the players show during the game. You don't see that in any other all star game. The Pro Bowl? Please, there is no hitting in the Pro Bowl, in fact, many offensive linemen look like they are dancing with a partner instead of blocking. The NHL game is a game of shinny, all offense and no defense. The NBA game is all glitz, no defense, until perhaps the last two minutes of the game. Even the MLS All Star game pales in comparison, as the MLS All Stars will play a team from across the pond that is merely working their way into game shape. The MLB Allstar game has it all, offense, defense, and pageantry. I'd rather watch the MLB All Star game than any other All Star game.

The Cavs lost in the NBA finals again, but this time they took the series to six games (previously they were swept in four by San Antonio). The summer will be interesting to say the least. Will Coach Blatt be back? I believe so, but only in LeBron wants him back. Will Dwayne Wade sign with the Cavs to pair up with LeBron again? Will Smith, Delly, and Shumpert return next year? All in all, there is a lot of work for the Cavs to do, figuring out who will need to be signed for the next season. This past championship series showed that the Cavs need health, more talent, and depth to win it all next year. We may see a whole new roster formed to supply LeBron the help he needs to win it all. It will be interesting, but whatever happens, I expect LeBron to play with the Cavs next year and for the team to be the favorite to win it all. The future looks bright with #23 in the wine and gold. #ClevelandCavaliers, #NBA

Hello again So its been about four years since I last posted. I watched the Cavs lose game one and Kyrie Irving suffered a knee injury. Its almost three am and I can't sleep, hence a renewed effort in blogging and random thought (s) Game one is a loss. They say it becomes a series when the visiting team wins on the home team's floor. It's only one game. The Cavs need to regroup, look at film, and make adjustments. I beleive that they can win the title. With or Without Kyrie. What to they need to do? Play better defense Next man up, with Kyrie its time for Smith or Jones to go off and take up the scoring load The Cavs still have Lebron, he makes others around him better, so now is the time to do so I still have faith, haven't lost hope, its only one game. All the Cavs need to do is win all their home games and one game on the road. Easy peasy right? We'll see. Now its time to try to get some sleep, morning comes early, ie four hours away for wake up call Good nite all
